The government has declared a general holiday across the country from March 26. In the first phase, the government had extended the holiday till April 4. Later, the leave period was extended till May 5.
The government has decided to keep the government offices open in limited form, including garment factories, which has been extended from April 26 to May 5. In this context, several important branches of the government continue to operate in a limited manner, while several other garment factories have been opened in Dhaka, Narayanganj, Savar, Ashulia, Gazipur and Chittagong.
In this situation, the coronavirus situation is gradually deteriorating in the last few days, now on an average, 500 to 500 patients are being detected every day, with the number of virus infected spread across the country. In this situation, the government is thinking of extending the term of general holidays.
According to sources in the Ministry of Public Administration, a proposal regarding the leave is already being prepared on the instructions of the Prime Minister, which will be sent to the Prime Minister's office tomorrow for approval.
The government has decided to extend the holiday period considering the overall situation, a high-level source said, "The holiday period will be extended till May 14, and the weekend will be extended on Friday and Saturday, and the general holiday extension is announced until May 16."
On the other hand, in the meeting to be held by the Ministry of Health of the Secretariat tomorrow, it will be decided whether the business and trade industrial factories will be open in a limited form during this holiday or not.
