The river ports in those areas have been asked to display the number one warning signal at a maximum speed of 60 kmph over 12 districts of the country.
The weather office has given such a forecast on Monday.
Meteorologist Shahinul Islam said, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Kushtia, Jessore, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet regions are 45-60 kmph from the south/south-east. At present the axis of monsoon winds extends through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and central Bangladesh to Assam.
An extension of this extends to the northwest Bay of Bengal, with the monsoons being fairly active over Bangladesh and moderately active elsewhere in the north Bay of Bengal.
This situation may be due to light to moderate rain/thunder of light with temporary gusty winds in many places of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions till Tuesday morning, and moderate to heavy rains may occur in some parts of the country.
