Public transport will run on August 11, offices and shops are opening

Dhaka: All government-semi-government-autonomic offices, banks and financial institutions, shops and shopping malls will be open from August 11. The government has issued a notification to allow half of the public transport to operate on 100% passengers.

The Cabinet Department issued a notification in this regard on Sunday (August 08).

According to the notification, offices, courts and shops, half public transport will run on the specified route, but the passenger can carry the same number of seats.

Although the restrictions are relaxed, it should be said that it should be strict to ensure wearing masks and maintaining hygiene.

The decision of the inter-ministerial meeting regarding the review of the COVID-19 infection situation, the socio-economic conditions of the country, keeping the economic activities going and the continuation of the restrictions, has been taken in the notification, it is mentioned in the notification.

What is in the notification:

1. All Government/Semi-Government/Autonomous/Private Offices, Banks and Financial Institutions will be open following hygiene rules.

2. The Supreme Court of Bangladesh will issue necessary instructions regarding the courts.

3. Public transport/vehicle with passengers equal to the number of seats on roads, rail and sea routes In case of public transport on the road, the local administration (Divisional Commissioner and District Commissioner at the district level) can start half of the total daily transport by discussing with the respective jurisdictions, concerned departments/organizations, owners and labor organizations.

4. Shopping malls/markets/shops can be kept open following hygiene rules from 10 am to 8 pm.

5. All types of industries will be operational.

6. Food shops, hotels and restaurants can be kept open from 8 am to 10 pm leaving half the seats empty.

7 Wearing masks should be ensured in all cases and hygiene rules should be followed properly.

8. If there is negligence in the implementation of hygiene rules in public transport, various offices, markets and markets, the concerned authorities will bear the responsibility and legal action will be taken against them.

All the secretaries and departmental commissioners have been given instructions to take necessary measures in the said matter. These conditions must be met until further notice from August 11.

Although strict restrictions started from July 1, the government imposed a 8-day break on Eid-ul-Fitr and imposed strict restrictions from 6 am on July 23. It ended on August 5. In the meantime, the restrictions will be banned again till August 10.

But the notification was issued stating that the situation did not improve but to allow people to move, they will be relaxed.

Before issuing the notification, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain told reporters at the Secretariat that the restrictions will be relaxed step by step, but all the situations must wear masks.
