The Tribunal ordered the death sentence of seven accused in the case of the terrorist attack in the Holy Artisan Restaurant Restaurant in Gulshan in the capital, which was announced by Judge Mojibur Rahman of the Special Anti-Terrorism Tribunal on Wednesday (November 27).

The accused who were sentenced to death are Jahangir Alam alias Rajiv Gandhi, Rakibul Hasan Regan, Rashedul Islam alias Rash, Sohail Mahfuz, Hadisur Rahman Sagar, Shariful Islam and Mamunur Rashid.

Earlier, they were brought to the court from the prison at 10:15 am, and the accused were taken to the court at around 12 noon from the courthouse.

Asam Hossain Sardar, the accused who was brought to court, showed a V mark, most of them had a smile on their faces. The accused Jahangir Alam alias Rajiv Gandhi was also smiling, and at around 12:05 p.m., the judge started rat pat and the judge announced the racism in the presence of the accused.

After filing the case, charge sheet against 8 people on July 23, 2018 The Inspector of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC) of the police filed a complaint against the 8 accused in the same year on November 26.

The investigating officer recommended their release from the case after the eight convicts were killed in various operations, and their exemption from the case was later released.

The five attackers killed in the army's Operation Thunderbolt in the Holy Artisan are Rohan Ibn Imtiaz, Mir Sameh Mobashwer, Nibras Islam, Shafiqul Islam alias Ujjal and Khatarul Islam alias Pastel.

Among the accused in the case discussed, eight people have been killed in various ‘militant hideout’ operations, they are Tamim Ahmed Chowdhury, Nurul Islam Marjan, Tanveer Quadri, Major (retd.) Zahidul Islam alias Murad, Rahan Kabir Tarek, Sarotan Jahan Manik, Basharuzzaman alias Chocolate and Mizanur Rahman aka Chhota Mizan.
