However, operators are not authorized to provide direct-to-home services, broadcast services, satellite IMT based services or telecommunications services.
The application or processing fee is fixed at Tk 5 lakh, including the acquisition fee of 10,000 US dollars and the annual fee of 50 thousand dollars, the annual station or terminal fee is fixed at $20.
The licensee has to pay 5.5 percent of his annual audited total revenue to BTRC, and another 1 percent of the gross revenue is compulsory as part of the ‘General and Management Contribution of Space Industry’.
The licensee must have at least one gateway system in Bangladesh before starting the service, but BTRC encourages the licensee holders to install additional gates.
Any user's terminals placed within the geographical boundaries of Bangladesh must be served through this local gate and served, according to Khasa, all traffic from these terminals for services within Bangladesh must be through this local gate.
NGSO Gate will be connected to the International Internet Gateway for managing international internet data traffic.
