Agla Uniton Parishad Chairman of Nawabganj Upazila of Dhaka and Vice President of Dhaka District Women's Awtami League Shirin Chowdhury and her husband Immigration police arrested from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Shirin Chowdhury went to the airport with her husband to go to Australia on Wednesday (September 25) afternoon.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nawabganj Police Station Mominul Islam confirmed the truth of their arrest and said that around 12 noon on Wednesday, Agla Uniton Parishad Chairman Shirin Chowdhury and her husband Mahfuzur Rahman alias Masudur Rahman went to Dhaka Airport for the purpose of going to Australia. She was identified as UP Chessman during the interrogation of the immigration police. Later, when the immigration police informed the Nawabganj police station, she came to know that two cases were filed against Shirin Chowdhury and she was arrested along with her husband.
The OC also said that after Wednesday evening, the immigration police handed over the two arrested to the Nawabganj police station.
