On Monday morning, Sirajganj Massacre Investigation Committee will send a letter to the Deputy Commissioner to select the site of the construction of the massacre memorial plaque in Shitalkole, Sirajganj.
Sirajganj District Commissioner Dr. Farooq Ahmad assured the full cooperation of the letter after receiving the letter.
The convenor of Sirajganj's genocide investigation committee was present to the district commissioner, the brave freedom fighter Saiful Islam, the brave freedom fighter Lithakat Ali Khan, the brave freedom fighter Jail Hossain, the central leader of the Basad, Shahidul Islam, and the leader of the country.
According to the sources of the Genocide Investigation Committee, on May 18, 1971, Pak Army and its allies killed at least 60 common people in that union, including 7 people, in Shitalkol area, on May 18, 1971.
The local people have already collected Rs 40,000 to ensure the participation of the people in the construction of the memorial plaque. Entrepreneurs have taken initiatives to communicate in every part of the union.
