A defamation case has been filed against the publisher and editor of the weekly New Path newspaper published from Laxmipur.
Yesterday (January 30) on Monday, Md. Hossain, son of deceased Abdul Munaf of Samserabad village of Laxmipur town, filed a defamation case of Tk 1 crore in the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court.
The learned court ordered the officer in charge of Laxmipur Sadar police station to investigate the case and submit a report.
Recently, Laxmipur Sadar Thana Police arrested 2 people named Md Hossain and Swapan from Samserabad area of the municipality No. 7. Later, a weekly new newspaper published from Laxmipur published a news report on them. In the wake of the news, Md. Hossain's honor has been eroded and the plaintiff filed a defamation case of Tk 1 crore in the court on Monday afternoon.
The case was made the new path newspaper publisher Hossain Ahmed Helal and editor Belal Uddin Sagar as the defendant.
