Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called on the representatives of the local government to pay special attention to the country free from drugs, terrorism, militancy and corruption to advance the country.

He said, "Corruption, militancy and terrorism are created from drugs, we want people to be free from this and we want people to be very careful to create awareness among the people and to take the country forward."

This Sunday (February 25) morning, the local government ministry issued by the local government day-2024 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital said this in the speech of the chief guest.

The Prime Minister said, ‘I will tell all the representatives of our local government that we have been in the government since 2009. Today, Bangladesh has passed a step, Bangladesh will go ahead. Let it not go backwards."

Keeping that in mind, you will do the duty and public service assigned to you. May we take the country forward.’

‘The most important thing is that you have to pay special attention to the society by making the society free from terrorism, militancy, corruption and drugs.

Because this drug has an adverse effect, it will create corruption, militancy and terrorism again. We want you to take the country forward and take special care to protect our society from them.’

I think that in the coming days, the local government system should be strengthened, the head of government said, ‘The local government will maintain the highest power in the overall development of a state. Therefore, the local government will be the strongest."

We will arrange from the center but the local government will develop the country locally and fulfill the dream of the father of the nation. From the least developed country that the father of the nation left, we have got the status of a developing country. We have to move forward as this developing country. We will move forward with no one. We will move our heads high and move our heads up to anyone.’

Sheikh Hasina said, ‘We have arranged computer training, we are making every school's development, district and district university. We are doing medical universities in departments, we are improving the quality of education by multi-purpose universities. We have achieved freedom in the blood of the blood of millions of martyrs in 1971. This freedom cannot be allowed to fail. This is our goal that we can achieve the benefit of this freedom in every person's home. It is possible to do it only when you work actively and serve people.’
