Dr Antar Hossain Khan, Member of Parliament for Laxmipur-1, said that cultural workers are always a pro-independence force, they have never stood against the spirit of the liberation war and the independence of the country. There is no alternative to cultural practice to stop fundamentalism, sectarianism and religious extremism. The current government has created a stir in the field of cultural practices in the last ten years.
He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the cultural program organized at Ramganj Upazila Parishad Auditorium on Friday night (Decsembre). Eight cultural workers should be paid posthumous tributes to the art of literature and culture.
They are former councilor of Ramganj Municipality Motahar Hossain Patwari, Aomilig leader Shahjahan Master, music artist Swapan Chakraborty, Vishwarv Saha, Radheshyam Patwari, Malay Nandi, Jaydev Chandra Saha, Krishna Gopal Baul. Chief guest Anatar Khan MP presented the honor crest among their family members on the occasion.
Under the chairmanship of Ramganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Umme Habiba Meera and the presentation of Upazila Secondary Academic Supervisor Sharif Ullah Samch, former Metr Belal Ahmed, Muktiyojaddha Tosaddek Hossain Manik Mal, President of Upazila Chhatra League Rabiul Islam Apu Mal, Upazila Publicity Officer/Employee Cultural workers were present.
