The ‘Bangladesh Transport Corporation Act (BRTC) 2020’ has been passed with the provision of operating leases and selling 45 percent of the shares to the people in long bushes or trucks.
On Tuesday (February 11) the bill was passed by a voice vote in the parliament session.
The session was presided over by Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.
Minister of Transport and Bridges Obatadul Quader proposed to pass the Bangladesh Transport Corporation Act 2020 by repealing the ‘Road Transport Corporation Ordinance 1961’.
BRTC is a service organization that has gained the trust of the people in the country at a reasonable price.
The bill states that the ‘Bangladesh Transport Corporation’ has proposed a capital of one thousand crore rupees. This capital will be divided into one billion ordinary sector. The remaining 45 percent of the sector will be sold to the people.
The Bill's purpose and reasons have been stated, the country's independence, the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has come to this stage today.
The bill has provided for the formation of one or more companies subject to the prior approval of the government. The bill has been given the provision of special transport services in the bill, in the bill repairing and maintaining special transport services in the bill, it will be kept on a commercially profitable basis or truck based on the basis of the order of the business of repairing and maintaining the business on a long basis.
In this bill, there is a provision for the formation of the Bangladesh Transport Corporation Board of Directors with 23 members. It will have representatives from local government, cabinet, finance, transportation and general department, shipping ministry, Ministry of Shipping, DTCA, Department of Public Roads, Department of Public Roads, Department of Public Services and representatives of the administrative department.
Before this, the national party Kazi Feroze Rashid, Fakhrul Imam, Pir Fazlur Rahman's amendment should be taken on the bill, but the proposal of sending it to the public opinion scrutiny committee and the other amendment was rejected by voice vote.
