Own Correspondent: Housewife Sabina Itasmin slaughtered her only son Aran Rahman (4) after being unable to bear the divorce of her husband in a verbal argument in Lakshmipur. After that he himself tried to commit suicide by hanging himself.
The incident took place at Laharkandi Uni's Laharkandi village of Sadar Upazila at around 12 o'clock in the night due to a family dispute.
The incident was arrested by the police in the police custody of the police station around 2 am on Sunday (September 27).
The police and relatives are the wife of Azgar Rahman, a Saudi expatriate village in Teoariganj Union of Sabina Sadar Upazila, and a joint family with a child and the family, who has been living in Hafiz Khan's house in Laharkandi village. In the recent times, there is a financial crisis in their family.
Last Sunday evening, Sabina and her husband were squealing on the phone. After a while, a loud noise came from the room, and after that, the family members quickly broke the door and saw that Sabina was trying to commit suicide with the ceiling fan. He was found to be smeared with blood in his body. Immediately he was seen lying on the bed, with a blood-stained sharp stick next to him.
Sabina's father-in-law Humaun Kabir and Devar Abir Jana, Sabina's husband is in Azgar Saudi. Sandhya was very angry because of the schism.
Local UP member Mohabbat Ali said, ‘I have spoken to a family member including Sabina. She (Sabina) has known that Azgar has given her ’talaq'. After not being able to bear the poison, she herself tried to commit suicide.
Laxmipur Sadar Model Police Station (OC) Jasim Uddin said the housewife has been arrested and the case is being prepared against her. I visited the scene of the incident and spoke to other family members.
