Laxmipur District Chhatra League Organizing Secretary Mirazul Islam Miraj murder case has been acquitted by all the 12 accused.
On Monday (May 22) at noon, the judge of the district and Datra Judge Court. Rahibul Islam declared the Raats, which was confirmed by Laxmipur Judge Court PP Advocate Jasim Uddin.
The acquitted are - Muslim, Tanzil Hatadar Ritaz, Jahangir, Noore Helal Mamun, Riz, Mustafa Kamal, Harun Prakash Dal Harun, Zahir Sardar, Rafiq Ulyah Sohag, Rakib Hossain Raju, Masud and Sohail.
According to the court and statement, on the afternoon of December 15, 2013, Miraj was killed in a secluded area near Bhant Mosque in Kerota Uni, and Miraj was killed in a heavy bloodshed on the spot.
Last May 5, 2016, the charge sheet against 12 accused in the court of investigating officer and sub-inspector Mozammel Hossain of Laxmipur Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in the court. Filed before Miraj murder case was changed several times by the investigating officer.
Jamaat leader Hafez the day after the murder The name of 11 people including Yusuf and Shibir leader Paran and 15 unknown persons was filed against 15 other unknown persons. Later, the plaintiff and Miraj's father Abul Kalam applied to the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of the case for the release of the leaders and workers of the Jamaat-Shibir.
He gave a supplementary statement in which he mentioned the names of 10 accused including Raju of Ragpur, Harun. In the affidavit, Masud and Sohail, who was with the same Miraj, were also accused.
Former General Secretary of District Chhatra League Moniruzzaman Pataari murder case has filed the case of the acquittal of the accused Raatpur Awami League senior leaders.
‘The witnesses have been able to testify in court because of the lack of cooperation from the Awami League leaders, because of which the real killers have also survived. The murder of Miraj was political, but the local Aotami League leaders stood by them.’
Plaintiff's lawyer Mizanur Rahman Munshi said, ‘We are not satisfied with this, we will appeal to the high court.’
Former Principal of Laxmipur Government College and District President of Khelaghar Professor Md. Main Uddin Pathan said, ‘The trial proceedings of a case have a few parties (plaintiff, testimony, police or investigators and judges). If you do it right, you can get a proper justice, but Miraj is killed by someone or the accused, but the accused has not been able to identify the killer, thus the accused will be acquitted and the people will be acquitted. The murderers will be encouraged.
Before this, the court acquitted all the accused in the case of the murder of Taher in Lakshmipur on August 26, 2021, the murder of Chhatra League leader Rubel on August 17, 2022, the murder of Morshed on January 28, 2020, and the murder case of Mizan on November 24, 2022, the court acquitted all the accused.
