Meherpur: Two journalists were assaulted by the officials of the Gita administration to gather news of the lockdown in Meherpur.
They are Meherpur News Joint News Editor, Daily Bhorer Pata and Daily People's Time District Representative Saeed Hossain and Meherpur District Representative of Daily Amar Sangbad Mizanur Rahman.
Meherpur Additional Deputy Commissioner Hafiz-al-Asad and Additional Superintendent of Police Jamirul Islam assaulted the two journalists in the hotel market area of the city on Wednesday (April 14) afternoon.
Journalists Saeed and Mizanur Rahman told BanglaNews that they wanted to know a team of police under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner Hafiz-Al-Asad to collect the news of the lockdown. We will give them a name. After giving them the identity of journalism, journalist Saeed Hossain was held in the 10-minute rush.
On the other hand, journalist Mizanur Rahman was assaulted by Additional Superintendent of Police Jamirul Islam and forced the photograph of the journalism card.
Meherpur District Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Munsur Alam Khan said, such an incident is not supposed to happen, but I am seeing the poison.
The journalists of the district have condemned the behavior of two journalists by two administration officials, although there are no restrictions on the movement of journalists during the lockdown as per the government announcement.
