The newly appointed Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and four election commissioners will take oath next Sunday (November 24).
Chief Justice Syed Refat Ahmed will administer the oath to the new Election Commission (EC) at 1.30 pm on this day.
The swearing-in will be held at the Judges Lounge of the Supreme Court.
Retired Secretary AMM Nasir Uddin has been appointed as Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).
Former Additional Secretary Md. has been appointed as four commissioners. Anotarul Islam Sarkar, former District and Sessions Judge Abdur Rahmanel Masood, former Joint Secretary Tahmida Ahmad and Brigadier General (retd.) Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah.
New CEC AMM Nasir Uddin retired in 2009.
He has served as the Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Information and Ministry of Health.
The Election Commission led by Kazi Habibul Autal resigned on September 5, a month after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government in the coup of the student crowd on August 5.
