The police have arrested one accused in three cases in Ratpur, Laxmipur, and arrested him from Devipur area of the upazila late on Tuesday (April 28).
The arrested person is M Shaheen Deoan, a resident of Manor Ali Deotan Bai of Devipur village of the upazila, his father Ismail Deoan and mother Parul Begum.
Police said, SI Md. Jamal Uddin Sangee conducted a special nightly operation in the Nit Force Nit. In the operation, Shaheen Deoan, CR Case No-405/17, CR Case No-240/2015 and CR Case No-358/23, was arrested.
One of these cases has been sentenced to 4 months' imprisonment and a fine of Tk 230,000, while another case has been sentenced to 1 year.
After the arrest, he was handed over to the court after the legal process, and the incident was reported to have brought relief among the locals.
