The police have arrested a youth with 60 pieces of e-taba tablets in an anti-narcotics operation in Rakhtpur, Lakshmipur.
On Sunday (May 24) around 12 o'clock in the morning, he was arrested in a raid in front of the main gate of Madinatul Uloom Noorani Hafijita Madrasa and Orphanage in East Sonapur Union of Sonapur Unit No. 4 of the upazila.
A team of Ratpur Thana police led by SI Md. Jamal Uddin conducted an operation, which was a suspect and a search was conducted and 60 pieces of Isaba were recovered from him.
The arrested person is Md. Saikat Hossain alias Bijat (30). He is the son of deceased Abu Taher of Rakhali Pata of the upazila.
The incident has been filed in the Ratpur Thana Narcotics Control Act, 2018. The police said that the process of sending the arrested accused to the court is ongoing.
The police also said that the anti-narcotics operation will continue in the area.
