BNP has announced 27 outlines for the repair of the state structure.
Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain, a member of the National Standing Committee of the party's highest policy-making forum, announced this outline through a press conference at Hotel Westin in the capital today at 3 pm.
Brief outline of the repair of state structures:
1. All the unreasonable, controversial and undemocratic constitutional amendments and changes adopted by the current illegal Awami League government will be repealed/ameded by the formation of a “Constitutional Reform Commission”.
2. An inclusive “Rainbow Nation” will be established on the basis of Bangladeshi nationalism against the politics of revenge and revenge, and a “National Reconciliation Commission” will be formed for this.
3. A “selection-time caretaker government” system will be introduced.
4. Balance will be brought to the executive power of the President, Prime Minister and Cabinet.
5. No one in addition to two consecutive terms can perform the duties of the President and the Prime Minister.
6. The Upper House of the Legislature will be introduced in the National Assembly with the aim of running the state with expert knowledge.
7. The amendment of Article 70 of the Constitution will be examined.
8. The current “Chief Election Commissioner and Other Election Commissioners Appointment Act, 2022” will be amended.
9. All state, constitutional and statutory institutions will be reconstituted and the constitutional and important posts of these institutions will be appointed subject to the dating of the parliamentary committee through hearing.
10. Effective independence of the judiciary will be ensured, a “Judicial Commission” will be formed to reform the current judicial system.
11. The administration will be reconstituted by forming an “Administrative Reform Commission”. A “Media Commission” will be formed to ensure the overall reform of the media.
13. No compromise will be made in case of corruption. A white paper will be published in the search of money-laundering and corruption. According to the “Ombudsman” will be appointed.
14. The rule of law will be established at all levels.Human rights will be implemented according to the Universal Human Rights Charter.
15. A “Economic Reform Commission” will be formed with experts.
16. Based on the principle of “religion belongs to everyone, state belongs to everyone”, every religion will enjoy the full right to practice their religion.
17. In the light of inflation, the fair wages of the working people will be ensured.18. All the laws of the immunity and the impunity laws will be canceled.
19. The national interest of Bangladesh will be given the highest priority in foreign relations. Bangladesh territory will be tolerated and no terrorist activities will be tolerated. Strict action will be taken against terrorism, militancy and extremism. Using terrorism as a political shield or a tool through the misuse of anti-terrorism laws and using the name of terrorism, the anti-dissent and political parties will be identified and punished by the fact that the real terrorists are stopped.
20. To protect the sovereignty of the country, the defense forces will be built with the mantra of maximum patriotism.
21. Local government institutions will be made more independent, stronger and more powerful with the aim of extensive decentralization of power.
22. A list of martyrs in the liberation war will be prepared under the initiative of the state and they will be given due state status and recognition.
23. Modern and up-to-date youth-development policies will be formulated keeping the vision, thoughts and aspirations of the youth.
Unemployment allowance will be provided to educated unemployed people, whichever happens first year or until employment is available.
The increase in the age limit for entry into government service will be considered as per international standards.
24. Specific programs will be adopted to ensure women's empowerment, and women will be given priority in principle in the nomination of the National Assembly.
25. Need-based and knowledge-based education will be preferred.
26. “Health for All” Based on this policy, universal health care will be introduced on the model of the UK's ‘NHS”.
27. Fair price of agricultural products will be ensured.
Later, other subject-based reform proposals and development programs will be published in due course.
