Chhatra League held a protest march in Ramgati and Kamalnagar of Lakshmipur demanding the release of 6 leaders including the general secretary of the district Chhatra League.
On Thursday (January 19) afternoon, the upazila and municipal Chhatra League took out a separate protest march at Alexander Hajihat in Kamalnagar Upazila Sadar Hajihat before 11 am.
In the afternoon, the protest march took place in front of the office of Kamalnagar Upazila Aomi League and the Hat Bazar circled. Esmt was present by District Jubo League leader Advocate Rahmat Ullah Biplab, Upazila Chhatra League President Jahangir Alam Biplab, General Secretary Mirza Ashrafuzzaman Russell, Chhatra League Leaders Didar, Amin Ullah, Helal Uddin, Gita, Md. Haroon, Arif, Raju, Rakib and Abdullah Al Noman etc.
Meanwhile, in Ramgati Alexander Bazar, the upazila and municipal Chhatra League protest marches were taken out, while local leaders and activists including Chhatra League leaders Rafiqul Islam Ritall, Saddam, Sheikh Farid were present.
Incidentally, on the night of September 5, 2010, Chhatra League leader Ashraful Alam was injured in Laxmipur town and was injured in the coup.
