The naval police destroyed the illegal net seized nets in the area along the Meghna bank of Ramgati upazila of Lakshmipur.
On Friday (January 27) in the morning at 9 o'clock in the morning, the seized nets were destroyed in front of the Naval Police Station.
Earlier on Thursday (January 26) night, the naval police raided the coastal areas of the Meghna and seized 20,000 meters of illegal current nets.
Md. Hasibul Islam, in charge of the Naval Police Department, said that 20,000 meters of illegal current nets were seized during the raid in the Meghna river, the estimated value of which was 5 lakh rupees, but no fisherman could have been arrested.
Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Kamal Hossain confirmed the truth of the poison.
