The court sentenced a young man named Hafiz Molla (30) to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment in Ramganj, Laxmipur. At the same time, he would have ordered another 6 months imprisonment without a fine of Tk 10,000.
On Sunday (April 9) at noon, Laxmipur District and Datta Judge Court Judge Md. Rahibul Islam gave the order. The accused was present in the court of the announcement of the Raat. Son of Md. Miraj Molla of Uttargram Maijher Bair of Bhadur Unit No. 3 of Ramganj Upazila.
According to court sources, on the night of April 2, 2022, DB arrested Hafiz along with a native LG made LG from the front of Shishu Park in Angarpaza area of Ramganj Municipality.
Later, District Gotenda (DB) Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Mosharraf Hossain filed a case against him under the Ramganj Thana Arms Act. On April 25 of the same year, the investigating officer of the case SI Jahangir Alam filed a final report against Hafiz in the court. The judge gave a statement on Sunday after a long hearing and evidence of the case.
