One person has been arrested with 8 gold bars in the raid in Godagai, Rajshahi. Kamruzzaman, son of Abdul Mannan of Bakchar area of Sadar Upazila (27)
Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj at around 12 o'clock on Saturday afternoon Rajshahi District Narcotics Department and Godagari Thana police in front of Mahasak Godagari Government College recovered the gold bars in a joint operation.
Inspector Parveen of Rajshahi District Narcotics Control Directorate Akhtar said, based on secret information, I came to know that a person from Chapainawabganj is going on an easy bike to sell gold in Godaga.
In front of Godagai Government College, the 8 gold bars held by Kamruzzamanan were recovered and arrested in the operation of the Godagai police station.
In order to check whether the recovered gold is genuine, the local goldsmith confirmed that the recovered gold was genuine in the presence of Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Sabuj Hasan of Godagai Upazila.
Kamrul Islam, OC of Godagali Model Police Station, said that the accused will be sent to jail after filing a case.
