Reporter, Rajshahi: Bagmara Upazila of Rajshahi has been on the verge of a non-governmental organization on the way back and for a robbery.
The robbery incident took place in Hatgongpa area of the upazila on Monday afternoon. The police made two attempts to rescue the three robbers from the local people and came to the police station.
The three robbers arrested are Hafizur Rahman (38), Rezaul Islam (35) and Abed Ali (36). Their Bai is in Hajigobindpur village of Manda Upazila of Naogaon.
According to the police and local sources, the victimized woman is a resident of Rakshitpaja village in Auchpaja Union of Feroza Begum upazila. She was returning to Bai in a loan of 80,000 taka from Bagmara's Hatganggopa branch of the private organization BRAC on Monday afternoon. When she reached Kanaishar area, she was returning to the three motorcycles and she was carrying four vans.
They told Feroza that there is a problem with the loan and the money has to be counted again. Feroza believes and handed the loan money to them and immediately one of the motorcycles took off. The other three also tried to escape, when the samsat turquoise started screaming, the people around rushed to catch the three.
After knowing the poison, the people of Feroza village reached Hatganggopa and went to the unison of the robbers and went to the United Nations Council (UP). After the recovery of the money, the local people beat them and locked them in a room of the UP.
Later in the evening, a group of police led by the OC of Bagmara police station rescued them and came to the police station and seized two motorcycles used for the robbery.
Auchpaja UP Chetman DM Safiqul Islam said, "The robber was his relative and tried to recover the money under his own control. They were being held in a room for fear that they might be beaten up." Later he was handed over to the police.
Bagmara police station OC Aminul Islam said that the police were bringing the police to the police station on Monday evening and the police were trying to recover the money.
