Barrister Nazmul Huda was a Bangladeshi lawyer and politician who was born on January 6, 1943, died on 19 February 2023.
He resigned from BNP in 2012. He was the vice chairman of the party at the time of his resignation. He was the Minister of Communications and Information Minister of the Government of Bangladesh. He was the president of the Supreme Court Lawyers Association of 1997-98.

When Ziaur Rahman formed the Jago party in 1977, Nazmul Huda joined the Jago party. In 1978, he became a member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and was a member of the party's youngest standing committee. In 1991, he became the Information Minister when he was formed as the Information Minister of the Bangladesh government and was the Minister of Communications of the Bangladesh government from 2001 to 2006. After 1/11, he was charged three corruption cases during the caretaker government. He was expelled from the party on November 21, 2010. He was expelled from the party on November 21. He was the vice chairman of BNP. Although expelled, he continued to do party work for BNP and his membership was revoked on April 5, 2011. Finally, on June 6, 2012, Nazmul Huda resigned from BNP.
On August 10, 2012, Nazmul Huda and Abul Kalam formed a new political party called Bangladesh Nationalist Front (BNF) but after a few months Abul Kalam expelled him from BNF. On May 7, 2014, he formed an alliance called Bangladesh National Alliance on 21 November 2015. On November 21, he formed a new party called Huda Trinamool BNP.

Nazmul Huda is married to barrister Sigma Huda, who has two daughters Antara Samila and Srabanti Amina.

On 21 March 2007, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against Huda, when he was the Minister of Communications during 2001-2006, taking Tk 2.40 crore as a bribe from businessman Mir Zahir Hossain in exchange for a government work contract of Tk 30 crore.
The case was sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment, and on the basis of appeal, the High Court acquitted him of the charges on 20 March 2011, but on December 1, 2014, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court acquitted him on 8 November 2017. The High Court sentenced him to four years in the commencement of the sentence of 20. The Supreme Court asked Huda to surrender in January 2018.
After his surrender, Huda was sent to jail on January 7, 2019. The Supreme Court granted him bail in the case on January 21.
BNP politician and owner of Cab Express Limited, Golam Mohammad Siraj, filed a case on 27 July 2007 for extorting two Maruti cars in the name of Huda and his wife in 2003. A court in Dhaka sentenced Huda to 12 years rigorous imprisonment in the case on 12 June 2008. But in September 2015, the High Court canceled the lower court verdict and acquitted him.
On 3 April 2008, Huda was sentenced to 12 years in prison for hiding property information and illegally extracting assets. The High Court acquitted him in August 2010 in the wake of an appeal but the Supreme Court canceled the acquittal in September 2015.
On June 18, 2008, the ACC filed a case against a contractor in the name of Huda and his wife, a case of a contractor of Tk 6 lakh. In 2016, the High Court dismissed the case, but in 2017, the Appellate Division dismissed the High Court verdict in 2017. In view of a petition, the 8 July 2019 High Court asked the ACC to complete the investigation within four months.
On January 9, 2020, the ACC filed two corruption cases against Huda and his family for smuggling around Tk 6.73 crore in the UK.
They were granted bail on March 10 on these charges and their autobiography revealed that he died on Sunday (February 19) around 10 pm.
