Every day from morning till evening the soil of Meghnapa is cut and it is like a magnificent soil cutting.
The river bank is cut down and the river is threatening to further threaten the river, which is causing the damage that the Meghna bank is protected by damage.
On Thursday, Nabiganj area of Char Kalkini Unit of the upazila was seen on the ground, half a hundred workers are cutting the soil along the river bank and loading 10 to 12 tractors and trolleys. Thus the soil has been continuously cut for the past few days.
The owners of the land are encouraging the owners of the land to sell the land through the brokers of the owners of several brick kilns in Kamalnagar and Lakshmipur Sadar upazilas.
According to the locals, Kamalnagar river erosion affected areas. If the soil is cut from the affected area, the erosion will be worse. A large town will be destroyed, and thousands of families are under threat.
A resident of Kamalnagar, who did not wish to be named, said that the soil is being cut from the north side of the river bank protection dam, which is why the river erosion continues even during the dry season.
Kamalnagar Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Omar Farooq Sagar said, "No one can cut the land and change the land. We will be active so that no one can cut the soil from the river bank."
Kamalnagar Upazila Chairman Mejbah Uddin Ahmed Bappi said, "A gang is misunderstanding the land owners and is giving brick kilns. The locals should be aware of this and the administration will take measures against those who are involved in the soil business.
Kamalnagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Imtiaz Hossain said that in this regard, the necessary measures will be taken.
