Dhaka has limited Bangladesh visas for Indians at the Deputy High Commission of Kolkata, for the first time Bangladesh has taken such a strong step.
On Friday, Channel Tontifour reported in a report that although it has not been officially announced, on Thursday (December 5), a secret official said. Through the letter, the Calcutta Deputy High Commission has been ordered to withdraw from the decision of the Bangladesh government to issue visas to Indians. The Kolkata Embassy has also started the implementation of that order from Friday.
Earlier, after the attack and vandalism of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Tripura, the government of Bangladesh suspended all activities at the Tripura Embassy, which was stopped by the government of issuing visas to Indians, which made it difficult for Indian citizens to get visas in Kolkata and Tripura due to unstable environment.
According to the report, although no such instructions have been given in the case of Delhi or Assam Mission, Bangladesh Foreign Ministry sources said, monitoring the situation in Kolkata and Tripura, similar instructions may come in Delhi and Assam.
Earlier last Wednesday in a short notice, Tripura Assistant High Commissioner Arif Mohammad, Acting Deputy High Commissioner of Kolkata Sikder Md. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs ordered Ashraful Rahman to return to Dhaka for an indefinite period and was ordered to return to Dhaka indefinitely to discuss the changing situation in India. They have already joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka on Thursday after responding to the 24-hour notice.
