Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Mo Sakhawat Hossain Bakul said, "This year's puja is the first puja of the BNP government. The government is keeping a good view of the puja in all aspects. We are a non-sectarian political party.
He said this in the speech of the chief guest on the occasion of Sharadee Durga Puja celebration at the minister's residence in Tamakkanda village of Manohardi's Chalakchar Unit in Narsingdi on Saturday (October 17) morning.
The minister said that after independence, Puja has been given the highest financial donation. Besides, Puja has been given the gift of the poor. We have been and will be on the side of the entire community.
Belab Upazila BNP Ahbatak Ahsan Habib Biplab presided over and Manohardi Upazila BNP Member Secretary Aminur Rahman Sarkar Dolan moderated the Matinimt meeting, Belab Upazila BNP Member Secretary MA Quader Jalil, Manohardi Municipal BNP Member Secretary Add. Abdul Hannan Mita, Upazila BNP member Golam Mostafa, Manohardi Puja Celebration Front President Sanjath Kumar Razib, General Secretary Sukomal Modhak and others.
Later, the health minister handed over financial donations to the president and general secretary of 80 puja mandapates of Manohardi and Belab upazilas from his personal fund.
