The High Court has issued a ruling to find out why the concerned public representatives (UP Chairman and other members and other councilors in the case of city corporation and municipality) will not be deposed for each child marriage.
The High Court bench of Justice Kazi Reza-ul Haque and Justice Mohammad Ullah issued the ruling on Monday (October 30). If a news related to this published in a national daily on Saturday (October 28), the rule will be issued on the subject of self-motivated (Sumoto).
The defendants have been asked to answer why those people's representatives should not be held for each child marriage in the rule and why legal action should not be taken against them for every child marriage in their respective areas and not disposal.
The Public Administration Secretary, Local Government Secretary, Law Secretary, Women and Child Affairs Secretary and Social Welfare Secretary have been made against this rule. The High Court has asked the Public Administration Secretary and Women and Child Affairs Secretary to know the order of the District Administrators (DCs) and Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNO).
The next hearing date has been fixed on December 3.
