Habiganj Incessant heavy rains and flood waters coming down from upstream and flood waters of Sylhet-Sunamganj have been continuously entering Haor for a week in Banichanchong and creating a flood situation.
The water level of the Kushitara river has increased and the banks of the Kaitardhala have been broken and the dam has been broken.
Therefore, the water of various rivers will increase, thousands of people in different unions are trapped in water. If the water continues to rise, most of the unions of Banitachong upazila will be submerged in flood water.
The upazila administration has already confirmed that the specific flood shelters have been prepared by the Banachong upazila administration to distribute dry food among the flood victims of Daulatpur Union.
In this regard, Banichang Upazila Nirbahi Officer Padmasan Singh said, "We are monitoring the overall situation. The shelter centers are ready. If the need arises, various schools will be opened for the flood victims. There is a system of dry food for the flood victims."
