A protest rally was held on Wednesday (March 5) morning to fulfill the long-standing demands of the officials and employees working in the Bangladesh Secretariat.
Hundreds of officials and employees appeared in front of the Secretariat Building-4 in this rally organized under the banner of Bangladesh Secretariat Officer-Employees.
The president of the assembly joined the assembly. The main demands raised by Badiul Kabir and moderated by Secretary General Nizam Uddin Ahmed include:
Introduction of Secretariat Allowance and Dearness Allowance, modernization of old titles and post-names of officers and employees, introduction of ration facilities similar to ACC for all levels of employees of the Secretariat, mandatory “Sanjeevani training” for employees of 10th to 20th grade is upheld.
At the end of the protest, a delegation led by the United Parishad, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration. Mahbub-ul-Alam met with the additional secretary saying that their demands are justified, “Sanjeevani training courses will not be canceled. But necessary steps will be taken to implement other logical demands quickly.”
The president of the council said. Badiul Kabir said, “If the demands are not met, more strict programs may be announced in the coming days.”
