A public meeting and human chain was held in Barguna to demand the reinstatement of the three parliamentary seats in Barguna. At least a thousand people from all walks of life participated in the Barguna Press Club premises on Sunday (August 24) at 11 am. If the three parliamentary seats are not reinstated in Barguna, the people of the district will be deprived if the three parliamentary seats are not reinstated.
The speakers also said that the government of the previous One Eleven made the three seats of Barguna two seats as an attempt to serve as a low interest in the intention of giving one party political benefits. According to the geographical location, population and size of Barguna, there should be three seats in Barguna, but unfortunately, one circle has three seats in Barguna but unfortunately one circle deprives the people of Barguna by making two seats from three seats.
The speakers strongly demanded from the current government and said that if the three seats of Barguna are not borne, the people of the region will be forced to take up a major movement program.
Barguna Press Club President Advocate Sohail Hafeez, former president Zakir Hossain Miraj, journalist Mosharraf Hossain, former chairman of Dhalua Union Parishad Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal Titu, Acting President of District Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal Sharmin Sultana Asma, District Jatiyatabadi Tanti Party General Secretary Md. Rafiqul Islam and others spoke in the public meeting and human chain.
It is known that Barguna district has three seats in Barguna Sadar and Betagi upazilas since independence. Barguna Sadar and Betagi upazilas have been set up in Barguna Sadar and Betagi upazilas. Barguna Barguna and Bamna Barguna Barguna-2 and Amtali and Taltali upazilas have been formed in Barguna.
But on July 10, 2008, the then 1/11 government-backed Election Commission misused the power and planned to facilitate the Awami League to facilitate the Awami League and disorganized the three parliamentary constituencies of Barguna district. Barguna Sadar, Amtali and Taltali Nit Barguna-1 and Patharghata, Betagi and Bamana Nir Barguna-2 constituencies will be formed in the complaint of the people of the district.
On July 30, the Election Commission published the Khasa Gazette without reinstatement of the seat. In anger, 130 people of Barguna district appealed for the return of three seats on August 10. The Election Commission has fixed the date of hearing of the appeal tomorrow (August 25).
Barguna district BNP member Omar Abdullah Shaheen said that three seats are needed to be reinstated in order to raise the voice of a balanced and marginalized people in the parliament.
Advocate Sohel Hafeez, President of Barguna Press Club, said, "We believe that the Election Commission will reinstate the three parliamentary seats of Barguna district considering the geographical location, population and administrative facilities.
