Three teenagers died on the spot after the road in the ditch on the side of the road in Betagi, Betagi, in Barguna. The incident took place at Mokamita-Betagi Sagar Khanerhat area around 11:00 pm on Thursday night.
Among the 3 teenagers killed, Kazirabad Union Md. Kabir's son Yasin Arafat (13) and Mohammad Rabbi (16), son of Rafiq Mridha of Mokamia Union, have been identified as another teenager till the writing of this report.
Betagi Thana Police said that on the occasion of the death day of late Hanchan Uddin, the Mokamita Fazil Madrasah of the upazila, 3 teenage friends lost control and went to the ditch on the side of the road. The police rescued three teenagers from the spot and took them to the Betagi Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty declared all the three teenagers dead.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Betagi Police Station Shah Alam Howladar said, after hearing the incident, the police recovered the motorcycle from the spot but the three teenagers died before being brought to the hospital, the doctor on duty said.
