The common people of Barguna have formed a human chain with the demand that the common people affected by the cyclone Rimal have written on their chests and wrote on their chests, ‘We want a sustainable dam and cyclone shelter’.
On Wednesday (May 29) around 12 noon, hundreds of local residents participated in the human chain at Khakdon river in Ghakdon village of Gourichanna Unidon in Barguna.
Our coastal embankments are constantly being broken, our embankments are the protector of the region, whereas these embankments are never repaired. We are in a state of danger at a very risky situation. We do not want any relief.
We want sustainable embankments, and if sustainable embankments are established, we will at least be assured of safe living no matter how many storms and floods are established.
