While addressing the training workshop titled ‘Global Journalism Prevention and Objective Journalism in the media’ in Barguna, Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Justice Md. Nizamul Haque Nasim said, "Journalists should provide objective news for the development of Bangladesh. There will be criticism in the news, but it should be constructive. Journalism is a challenging profession. If you want to come, you have to do a lot of interest in the news.
He also said that the mainstream journalists are currently working on the problem of the tragedy, and the amateurism and amateur organization is getting more and more concerned about the problem.
The training workshop titled ‘General of the Prevention of Yellow Journalism and Objective Journalism in the media’ organized by the Bangladesh Press Council with the participation of journalists of print and electronic media of Barguna district in collaboration with the Barguna district administration was held on Monday at the Circuit House auditorium.
Barguna District Commissioner Moha. Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Justice Nizamul Haque Nasim was present as the chief guest in the workshop training held under the chairmanship of Rafiqul Islam. Bangladesh Press Council Secretary (Additional Secretary) Shyamal Chandra Karmakar and Superintendent of Police Md. Abdus Chalam were present as special guests.
In the workshop, Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Md. Nizamul Haque Nasim and Secretary (Additional Secretary) Shyamal Chandra Karmakar of Bangladesh Press Council on the matter of journalists in the light of Journalism Policy and the Code of Conduct made by the Press Council Act 1974 presented as a resource person.
District Information Officer Md. Salim Reza gave a welcome speech in the workshop.
Barguna Press Club President Advocate Golam Mostafa Quader, former President Advocate Sanjeev Kumar Das, General Secretary Zafar Hossain Howladar, former General Secretary Abu Zafar Md Saleh and others spoke among others.
40 media workers working in various media in Barguna district participated in the workshop.
