There has been rain with thunder in various parts of the country, and three districts have been reported dead in lightning, 4 of whom have died in Narsingdi, two in Kalihati in Tangail and one woman in Gazipur.
It is known that four people died due to lightning in Alokbali Uttarpa and Hajipur of Sadar Upazila of Narsingdi around 10 am on Saturday.
The deceased are - Alokbali Uttarpadar Kamal Mita's wife Sharifa Begum (50), her son Iqbal Hossain (12) and Kaitum Mita (22), son of paddy harvester Karam Ali (22).
The injured Kamal Mita said that the wife, children and a worker were harvesting paddy in the field since morning, and this was a heavy rain and a sudden lightning strike caused a sudden lightning strike.

On Saturday, Narsingdi Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Tanveer Ahmed said that all the victims were staying in the agricultural land to harvest paddy. When lightning struck, Sharifa Begum and her son Iqbal died on the spot. Another person named Kaitum died on the way to Sadar Hospital where another injured named Kamal Haasene was being treated and another person named Kamal Haasene was being treated in Hajipur.
Meanwhile, two farmers were also working on the field to harvest paddy in the lightning of the village of Noabari in the Union of Kalihati, a resident of Kalihati in Tangail. Abdul Hossain and Amir Hossain of Chauddapur village in Birganj upazila of the district, about the victims, were cousins who came to his father a week ago to harvest paddy of Hazrat Mia of Noabari village in Kalihati upazila.
In this regard, Sohrab Mia, chairman of Bibasinda Union of Kalihati Upazila, said that the families of the victims have been informed and they will actually be given the body after the legal process.
