Three people were injured, including a student who was shot in the police firing in front of Bangabhaban.
They were rescued and admitted to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 9:30 pm on Tuesday.
The shot victims are Faisal Ahmed Vishal (24) and Shafiqul Islam (45) and Arif (20) injured in sound grenades.
Vishal Ahmed Faisal said, "We tried to enter Bangabhaban demanding the resignation of the President, which was blocked by the police and the army. They fired bullets and sound grenades to break the students. I studied in 12th class at Comilla Victoria College.
He further said that if the police Shooting at us, then why did we make the country independent? The police are our friends but why did they shoot at us?
Injured Arif said, "We were demanding the resignation of the President peacefully in front of Bangabhaban. Police fired sound grenades and bullets when a sound grenade fell on my leg, and I was injured and I was studying at Siddheshwari College.
Shot Shafiqul Islam said, "We came in front of Bangabhaban in solidarity with the demand for the president's resignation. I do business and I was shot in the right leg while trying to save a student."
DMK Hospital police camp in-charge inspector Md Farooq said that three injured people came from the front of Bangabhaban. Two of them were shot and undergoing treatment at the emergency department.
