In the letter signed by Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, it is said that the proposal to change the name of Bangabandhu Satellite-1 (BS-1) to Bangladesh Satellite-1 (BS-1) has been approved by the Chief Advisor. In this case, the next necessary activities are requested in the direction of the instruction.
It should be noted that Bangladesh entered the elite club of satellites as the 57th country through the satellite, which cost Bangladesh 2,902 crores to own its own satellites. On May 11, 2018, the country's first satellite BS-1 was launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
