Madhukhali Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) of Faridpur. Ashikur Rahman Chowdhury was attacked and the village used by him was vandalized.
On Thursday (May 4) around 1:30 pm, the attack took place in Nishchintpur Charpaja area of Dumain Unity of the upazila.
According to local sources, the locals were opposing the construction of the shelter project in the area. On Thursday afternoon, the upazila executive officer (UNO) Md. Ashikur Rahman Chowdhury joined the inauguration of Nischintpur Charpasa area of the upazila's Dumain Union.
The locals blocked the construction of the shelter project at the site and attacked UNO Ashiqur Rahman Chowdhury at one stage, which he was injured in. They also vandalized the government yard.

Upazila Chairman Md. Shahidul Islam said, "We rushed to the spot after the news of the attack, rescued the UNO and sent it to Faridpur after first aid.
