Charjhaukanda Unit of Charjhaukanda Unit of Charbhadrasan Upazila of Faridpur Upazila on February 5. Among the five missing passengers, 4 bodies were recovered till Wednesday afternoon in the operation of the diving team. Another passenger is missing.
The recovered bodies are Daud Mridha (45) of Kanaipur village of Faridpur Sadar upazila, Balram Goswami (35) of Munshi Bazar village of the same upazila, Rana Khandkar (30) of Teli Dangi village of Charbhadrasan upazila and Khokon Sheikh (40) of Samsher Matubbar Dangi village of Sadarpur upazila. The upazila administration has given 5 thousand taka in cash to each family for the burial of the recovered bodies.
Another passenger named Md. Shahidul Islam (30) of Balita Dangi village of Charbhadrasan Upazila Sadar is missing.
After the Capitboat accident, the Dhaka diving team has continued the rescue operation in Padma river since last Tuesday. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tanjila Kabir Trapa, Upazila Project Execution Officer Md. Mahmudul Haque Titu is going to give direction with the diving team in the Padma river.
In this regard, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tanjila Kabir Tripa said, “Even though the spidboat accident happened at Mainot Ghat of Dohar Upazila of Padma River, we brought the diving team from Dhaka and the missing passengers. We are trying hard to rescue.”
