Parliament Elections: Allotment of symbols is going on

twelfth The allotment of symbols for the candidates of the National Assembly elections is going on. The candidates are entering the campaign field after getting the symbol.

Returning officials have been allocating symbols since Monday (December 18) morning.

This morning, the candidates for 4, 5 and 6 seats have been allocated symbols, and the returning officers are allocating symbols in other constituencies.

After receiving the symbol, the candidates will be able to start their votes officially. The election campaign will continue till 8 am on January 5. And the polling will be held on January 7.

Earlier, Sunday (December 17) was the last day for the withdrawal of the nomination. On this day, 347 nominations have been withdrawn, five have been suspended. After withdrawal of candidature, the total number of valid candidates is now 1,896.

Election Commission (EC) Secretary Md. Jahangir Alam said that a total of 27 political parties are participating in the elections. The Democratic Party has been excluded from our 28 political parties and urged all candidates to follow the Election Commission's code of conduct.

Earlier, the 12th National Assembly election schedule was announced on November 15. According to the schedule, the election will be held on January 7, 2024. Even after the schedule was announced, the national party was in a dilemma.

The party had also decided to sell the nomination form and the candidate for the election, which had caused various complications, including the exchange of letters of the GM Kaderists with the Roshan Ershad supporters.
