A team of Rajshahi RAB-5 has arrested Arif Hossain Jhart (30), accused in the case of raping the wife of a crippled police officer in Naogaon.
He was arrested from Terkhadita area of Rajshahi metropolis on Sunday afternoon and was later handed over to Naogaon PBI, who was arrested by Abdul Hakim of Jinnarpur village of Manda Sadar Uniton.
According to the case, the victim's husband was a police officer. When he got sick, the victim would go to Rajshahi city for treatment.
The woman said that her husband died on September 19, 2020. On the basis of previous identity, Josht Nitmeet used to come and go to her house. At one stage, the accused had forcibly raped her on January 8, when there was no one in her house.
He said that when he asked to reveal the poison, he promised him that he was raped several times in the Terekhadi area of Rajshahi, but he filed a case against the accused in the Naogaon women and children torture court.
The investigating officer of the case, Sub-Inspector Abu Saeed, Sub-Inspector of Naogaon, said that the court order is investigating the case. The RAB arrested the accused and handed it over to us on Sunday night and was sent to court on Monday.
