The Upazila Fisheries Department has seized 2 trawlers for disobeying the prohibition of fishing for 65 days in the deep sea.
When they went to sell fish at BFDC Ghat in Barguna's Patharghata fishing center around Aitaru on Wednesday night, trawlers and fish were seized from there.
If the seized trawlers are, FB Ra'han Ali owned by Shaheen Fiter in Launchghat area of Patharghata upazila and FB Arif owned by Golam Mostafa of Nali area of Barguna Sadar Upazila.
It is reported that FB Rathan Ali and FB Arif trawlers were stolen and fished deep in the Bay of Bengal a few days ago. Later yesterday they came back and sold fish at Patharghata fish landing center BFDC around 2 am.
Patharghata Upazila Sinister Fisheries Officer Jantant Kumar Apu said, based on secret information, I came to know that some dishonest fishermen are selling fish hunted in a secluded place near BFDC ghat around 2 am in the deep sea.
Based on this news, two trawlers named FB Rahan Ali and Gholam Mustafa, owned by Shaheen Fitter, were seized by the Avijara Chali, and two trawlers named FB Arif were seized. Later, two of the tratras were auctioned for Tk 1 lakh 36 thousand 500 and the fishes were sold for the same amount.
