Netrakona-4 (Madan-Mohanganj-Khallita§juri) Constituency Awami League candidate former senior secretary Sajjadul Hasan has been declared unopposed as Bijt Bijt. He was declared a private election by the Election Returning Officer and M.Monsingh Regional Election Officer Mohammad Belatha Hossain.
Netrakona district election officer and assistant returning officer Golam Mostafa said that no one has submitted nomination papers except Sajjadul Hasan of the by-election in this seat. According to Sazzadul Hasan submitted nomination papers on July 24. On July 25, the scrutiny and today (July 31) were the last day for withdrawal of nomination papers. As per the schedule, the polling was scheduled to be held on September 2.
But after scrutinizing, appealing and withdrawing nomination papers as per rules, he has to be declared elected unopposed if he is elected unopposed, so Sajjadul Hasan was elected unopposed as a Member of Parliament.
According to Dalit sources, Rebecca Momin, Member of Parliament of Netrakona-4 Constituency, died on July 11. The Election Commission (EC) announced the schedule on July 16, fixing the polling date for the vacant seat on September 2. In the by-election, the nomination of Aomi League was given to Sajjadul Hasan.
Dalit workers said that after taking the status of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's private secretary (PS-1), Sajjadul Hasan came to the Netrakona discussion.
