Nusrat's killers will not get chased: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the murderers of Feni's Sonagazi madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi will not be killed in the incident. In the opening speech of the advisory council of Awami League at the Prime Minister's official residence Ganabhaban on Friday afternoon, Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Some of the murderers have already been arrested and others will be arrested soon.’

‘I personally believe that they should be punished exemplary, so that no one can commit such a heinous crime in the future.’

He said, ‘I have no word to condemn a heinous incident like killing a madrasah in the fire of a principal in the fire of any reason.’

Referring to the government's efforts to save Nusrat's life, the Prime Minister said, ‘We have tried our best to save the Meteti. We have even taken the opinion of the doctors there to send the Meteti to Singapore for better treatment but we have not received any positive response.’

After setting fire to a madrasa in Feni on April 6, Nusrat lost with death on April 10.
The Prime Minister recalled that in 2013 and 2015, the BNP-Jamaat introduced the culture of killing the living people in the name of disrupting the national elections and bringing down the elected Awatami League government.

The Prime Minister urged the leaders and workers of the Awami League and all the party organizations to prepare to celebrate the year-long birth centennial anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on a large scale across the country.

The Prime Minister greeted the countrymen on the occasion of Bengali New Year. Bengali New Year will be celebrated across the country on April 14.
