According to media reports, the White House is planning a face-to-face meeting between US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping in San Francisco in November, i.e.
Taiwan has been straining relations between the world's two largest economies in recent years, including the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic, espionage allegations, human rights issues, and trade tariffs, but the two countries still want to stabilize their problematic relationship.
The news was reported by an unidentified US newspaper citing anonymous senior US officials, which said one of the officials said that the chances of a November meeting between Biden and Jinping are ‘sufficient’.
“We are starting the process of planning this meeting,” the newspaper quoted the official as saying.”
