BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed said that the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC)‘s application to punish Khaleda Geeta is ’illegal'.

Rizvi said this at a press conference at the party's central office in Napaltan of the capital on Thursday.

He also said that the poison of the review petition for criminal cases is not even in the ACC Act. Therefore, it is not self-motivated to reflect the will of the government and to fulfill political vendetta, the ACC has filed a case against Khaleda Gita for the same reason.

Alleging that the government forces are running rampages as before in the local government elections, Rizvi said that the Election Commission is not taking any action against it despite knowing everything.

BNP Vice Chairman Nitai Raut Chowdhury, Shaukat Mahmud, Co-Organizing Secretary Abdus Salam, Executive Member Aminul Islam and others were present.
