The editors of the country's newspapers have formed a human chain to demand the amendment of the new section of the new ‘Digital Security Act', which has been implemented.
On Monday (October 15), the editorial board organized the human chain in front of the National Press Club.
In the program, the English daily ‘Daily Star’ editor and general secretary Mahfuz Anam said, "We have been protesting the digital security law since before, we have been protesting against the various clauses of the law. We think that this law is against independent journalism and free media. In order to protect the freedom of the media and the freedom of speech of the press, we must properly correct these laws in the coming and going on.
The general secretary of the editorial board said that the information minister of the government said that there is still room for discussion on this law. We applaud the proposal. We also want to discuss it, but no farce will be accepted in the name of discussion.
