Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Constable Shaukat Hossain has been fired.
On Sunday (April 16), the deputy commissioner of CMP Port Division Shakila Soltana signed the order of the CMP Commissioner Krishna Pad Ratt.
Shaukat Hossain, a resident of Kabirhat Upazila of Noshakhali, joined the post of police constable in 2005. He went to Rangamati in 2009 from Dhaka to Rangamati. He came to Chittagong Divisional Police Hospital and completed a three-year diploma and two years paramedical course.
It is said in the order of dismissal, ‘71 days of absence at work has been proved beyond doubt. This accused (Shaukat Hasen) is physically and mentally disturbed, having family and personal problems and being busy in humanitarian activities. It is not possible for him to be employed in the post of police constable.’
It is known that the journey of the Human Police Unit started in 2019 on the orders of the then CMP Commissioner Mohammad Mahabubur Rahman. The Commissioner of the Samity paid 50,000 rupees from personal funds.
Meanwhile, Shaukat Hossain was a guest at a ceremony in the double mooring police station area on February 19, 2021 and gave a ‘controversial’ speech.
