Faridpur The Upazila Fisheries Directorate has seized 20,000 meters of nets by conducting a campaign against the banned current net in the Padma river of Charbhadrasan upazila.
Upazila Fisheries Officer Naeem Hossain Biplab led the campaign from the afternoon to 8 pm on Friday (April 15) in various areas of the Padma River.
During the operation, a large amount of illegal leaves of the river will be seized in the river, which is later destroyed in the fire, so that they are not reused.
In this poison, Upazila Fisheries Officer Naeem Hossain Biplab said, “The use of current nets is completely prohibited, because it destroys small fish and fry of the river and causes serious damage to the fish resources. We are conducting such operations on a regular basis.”
“Everyone should be aware of fisheries protection. If anyone uses current nets in violation of the law, strict legal action will be taken against him. Such operations will continue in the future.”
The Department of Fisheries has informed that such operations are being conducted and will continue to be conducted in the river.
