The national party (NCP) was not aware of the issue of trade agreement with the United States, the party's spokesperson Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhui, said, ‘The agreement was signed three days before the election. Many people said that all the parties have been informed. I have been informed about the party. I have spoken to everyone, I have spoken to everyone, before this agreement is the consort of the National Citizen Party.’
Asif Mahmud gave this information in an emergency press conference at NCP's central office on Tuesday (May 26).
Asif Mahmud claimed that the security advisor of the former interim government (present foreign minister) worked for BNP.
He said, ‘It was three months for this agreement, but the government signed the agreement within a month. It was two more months, we heard that he had worked in an interim government in an agreement with BNP and he agreed with the BNP to give the agreement to the interim government and the question is in the public mind whether he made the agreement three days before the election.
